Vixen and Amber the Cat Dragons
Deep in an enchanted forest a creature stalks through a garden, looking for anyone attempting to steal from it’s bounty. In the middle, the white witch, Hazel, is tending to her garden while a smaller creature sits on her shoulder, keeping an eye out at the sky, making small yowling calls when she sees a crow flying above. Although she’s still too young to fly up and chase the crow away, she makes sure the crow knows that this garden is protected. Over on the edge of the garden, the larger creature jumps out, pointing her horns at a rabbit that was curious enough to come close. These creatures look like cats, but have horns, wings, and a spike on their tail like a dragon. Vixen the cat dragon is the larger of the two, as an adult. Although she takes pride in protecting Hazel’s garden, her favorite activity is when Hazel sits down to read a book, and Vixen can snuggle up with her. Amber is the smaller of the two. She’s Vixen’s younger sister and loves to run around and start practicing using her wings.
I hope you enjoyed meeting these two adorable creatures. The pattern for Vixen is available for sale on my website or my etsy shop. Amber can be made from this page for free, but if you’d like a printable PDF version, you can find them at the links below!

Notes
This pattern is written in US terminology.
This pattern is worked in continuous rounds unless otherwise stated.
Each part starts with a magic ring unless otherwise stated, but you can use the ch2 starting method if you prefer. You can also use regular acrylic yarn to make your magic ring if you have trouble with the chenille yarn. To ensure the magic ring is secure, I like to crochet several stitches in round 2 over the tail.
I highly recommend using a stitch marker to keep track of the first stitch of each round
When working into a chain, I like to go in the back humps of the chain rather than the side. It makes the edges look neater.
() at the end of a round/row indicate the stitch count for that round/row
This pattern is no sew, but you can sew the pieces on if you’d prefer.
